The Northwest Arctic Borough would like to inform residents of the overflow surrounding Kotzebue. Overflow is on the lagoon side as well as front street. Please take extreme caution while travelling with snow machine or four-wheeler.
Please make travel plan with a family or friend prior to traveling. Plans should include your intended travel route, what items you have with you, how much gas/oil you have with you, if you plan on stopping anywhere along the way and current working phone numbers for yourself and your emergency contact.
If you would like to file a trip plan, please call the on-call search and rescue coordination during normal business hours. If you would like to report an overdue traveler, please call the on-call search and rescue coordinator at 907-412-2038.
The public is encouraged to send winter trail conditions and weather precautions to the public safety department at publicsafety@nwabor.org.
