With fuel costs going up in Northwest Alaska, hunters might struggle to fuel up four-wheelers and snowmachines to go look for game and residents might face even more challenges heating their homes.
Alaska Native corporation NANA announced last week that they will provide $4.4 million to address the high cost of living in the Northwest Arctic, dedicating funding for hunter support, fuel subsidies, heating maintenance and worker training.
