5.6 percent of employees at the Public Transportation Department made between $25,000-$50,000 in 2017, according to the Alaska Policy Forum. That’s 10 of employees out of 178. Most employees at the Public Transportation Department made more than $100,000.

Investopedia says that an increase of four or five percent is substantial in today’s economy. The average salary for residents of Alaska is $69,000, according to Payscale.
