FAIRBANKS NORTH STAR BOROUGH: Important Message from the City of Fairbanks

Speaker

Fairbanks North Star Borough issued the following announcement on March 14.

"We are happy to announce that our FFD employee’s results came back negative the for COVID 19 virus. Employees that were sent home from FFD yesterday are cleared to return to work. The City will still be asking employees returning from out-of-state to self-quarantine. We are taking these and other measures in order to keep our City employees as healthy as possible. It is especially critical that we do what we can to keep our first responders as healthy as possible as they have regular contact with the most vulnerable in our community.

While taking extra precautions temporarily interrupted operations at Fairbanks Fire Department on Friday, we are happy to report that we very quickly had staff that were able to come in and cover for their co-workers and other agencies that were willing to help cover emergency calls.

We remain dedicated to providing transparent communication and informing the public of any changes impacting operations at the City."
